I was down at My local Guitar Ctr this morning in Manchester Ct and first thing I noticed was the display of low end Fender Acoustics, maybe 8-10 different models. Then once I looked toward the wall and back, I was amazed to see 15 Celebs, 6 & 12 string and 2 Double neck models. Further back in the room there were 3 used American made O's a 6 and 12 string that have been there for a while and either a 2001 or 2002 collectors. I thought it was the redwood top collectors so the year did NOT register with me. Now I'm thinking it could be the Cherry topped 2002 but again NOT positive (It was selling for $699.00).
Still would have been nice to see some New USA Models and An Adamas or 2. Oh well........

I don't know if they're flexing anything but each Guitar Center carries/stocks different guitars. My main store stocks no Ovations. However, the one further away has a variety.

Not a GC... This is the website shot from Apple Music Row's Acoustic Store...

Not a whole lot, but a few... And the 06C is gone.
But sometime they have a bunch for an independent shop.
Even an Adamas occasionally.

The most Ovations I had ever seen in this location was 6. Now suddenly 19-20?

O visibility on the web, and in the stores is on the rise...most I've seen in years...I think the new marketing strategy's are working (such as the Road Shows, etc.)...that's a good thing...not sure if that has translated to increased value for older models yet but it may if it continues...however, with the new models all being contour bowl backs, the new players will be used to then rather than the roundbacks...be interesting to see how it all unfolds...just good to see the renewed interest and visibility...

Yes, it's good to see the interest in Ovation again. Hopefully a whole new generation will discover the magic just like we did and carry the torch onward.

Seeing the nice Os must have been great. Lately, the only Os I have seen are the ones taken in on trades. :( Daddy's used to have a wall full of cracked top Os :( .

Albany must be really slow to get on the O train.

I haven't tried the Fender guitars, but it's cool that good technology is reaching the more people. Maybe people will start to hear with their ears not their eyes if it says Fender on it?
