I usd to own a standard elite. It was my only guitar for 15 years or so while I forgot about music and playing. Very well built and sturdy guitar. Looks were great with the multihole setup and great plugged in, but the sound unplugged did not do it for me.
Then I discovered the deep bowl american guitars and the first generation Adamas guitars and I came back around to Ovation big time.
I have seen some of the deep bowl elites you guy's boast about but have not considered one again until now.
This one does it for me man! Just looks alone has me curious and counting through all the tips from my dancing job.

It's an FRG, which are usually good bargins.

dave,
bobby does not list this guitar as an FRG. he states it is new and spotless. the only discrepancy i see is that the photo shows a VIP pickup but the description says OP-PRO. did i miss something?

okay, i did miss it. my alibi is that i am very under the weather today.

Getting a dealer to actually make an honest representation of his products these days is pretty much a "Lost Art".

And I doubt it has an Engelmann Spruce Top.

Dave, I think those Dealers call it "SOP" (sacrilegious operating procedures)

Pretty guitar! I'm with Kurt, as I question the top being Engelmann Spruce. I believe that particular wood is usually left in a clear finish unless the grain wasn't very good.

If you like what you see, get it.

Those who own a contour bowl say it sounds similar to a deep bowl but it's more comfortable. You can't beat the OpPro. It's not Engleman Spruce...it's Sitka Spruce. Who cares? Everything about it is the best Ovation does (except Pings instead of Schallers).

Just be sure and bring it on the tour.
