Fresh Air
Glen Campbell, Platinum Cowboy
August 14, 2008 | NPR · He's put out hit records for half a century, toured with the Beach Boys, even hosted his own TV show. So why is the latest album from the indefatigable country-pop singer called Meet Glen Campbell?

He still sings and plays his ass off at 72.
Amazing.

The Meet Glen Campbell album of cover tunes to be released on Aug 25 is the best thing he has done in many years...fantastic.

Heard it on the drive home yesterday. His voice is truly amazing. The content of the interview was nothing I hadn't read, but it's good to hear he's still chuggin' along.

When I bought a new Ovie a couple of years ago it came with a video, one segment of which was Glen and Steve Lukather with Ovations just playing and shootin' the breeze. At one point, Lukather could not keep up and had to look to see what Glen was playing. Campbell's The Man for sure.

I think that segment with Lukather is still on Youtube somewhere...
I'm still waiting for Campbell to release and all-instrumental album. I see where somewhere re-mastered the '69 live in New Jersey album and put it out on CD. There's some of the slickest picking you'll hear. Yakity Axe is one of them.

Beal, it was Witko and Clfford. What other kind of comments are they capable of?

His album where he played all 12 string is still one of my favorites!

ProfessorBB and I (along with our significant others) saw Glen last year (or was it two) and sat on the front row. Awesome concert!

The mighty Professor also used his contacts and we were all able to go backstage and meet the legend and visit with him for about 15 minutes.

Good Times!
