Location: Maine | Need help with this. What is the average sale price of an Ovation 2003 Collectors Edition in excellent condition. I can't find the information anywhere. Your input is greatly appreciated. Original retail $3000? What's it worth now. |

And I think ALL were electro acoustics.
Its mental isn't it? The "value" has gone down.................................................................. |

I want one of those myself but just haven't crossed the right path. |

"Well I just bought a MINT 1993 for $370 two weeks ago with case"
And have bought other collectors for < $500. Just got a lovely 2007 Collector for just $700.
So yeah it might have cost $2000 but the resell value will be much lower. |

just wondering why you think the 93 is a cooler guitar than the 03? |

Location: SoCal | From my point of view, the 93 is cooler because it was a genuine "first". It was the first mid depth bowl Elite configuration. It has a unique sound (a bit more compressed, great for recording) and visually, I like the epaulets.
The 03, while it's a fine guitar, has nothing about it that says "Collectors". Visually, the only unique thing about it is the inlaid epaulets. I think it may have the ANS neck bracing system as well, but to me, while it's a good guitar, it's not a memorable guitar.
That's my opinion and it should be yours..... |

Glad you said the 93 is great for recording as that's exactly what I'm going to do! 93 arrives tomorrow - pics to follow. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Steve Sutton and I designed the 93. It also was the first to have the slanted saddle although that's not a new idea, Steve saw it on a Lowden and said "Why don't you do that?" so we did.
I'm sure I've seen an 03 but couldn't tell you what it is. |
