Joined: March 2002 Posts: 873 Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | i have never had the pleasure to play an ultra gp and hear nothing but raves about them. have you played the somewhat more common ukII. it is my favorite electric with a fantastic neck. i am in los angeles area every 3 months or so ickygoo. any chance you would show me one of your gp's? can you tell me what it is that you especially like about them? maybe we could hook up with paul (moodypi), bend a few tortillas and talk about ovation solid bodies. | ||

So in about two weeks, I'll post a pic and you guys can all snicker at my guitar (well, maybe not at the guitar, but at all I went thru to make a "one of a kind" guitar!). | ||

Joined: March 2002 Posts: 873 Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | i never saw your viper paul. i'll look forward to seeing it here. ive got a couple of vipers. one with a blonde body and one dark. not sure about the woods, but hey, they are great little guitars. the brownbird bill sold me is a viper style 12 string with an aluminum frame and urelite construction. it has two humbuckers. very cool axe and a joy to play. my guess is that ovation solid bodies are going to continue to have a growing following. | ||

Trade is good with England now that they are no longer fighting us regarding our independance. I really want to see a pic the the Brownbird 12. How did you ever talk Bill into parting with it, and what other guitars did you dicker him out of? | ||

Joined: March 2002 Posts: 873 Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | i guess bill knew i was the aluminum frame nut in the group and knew i was looking for a solid body 12 string. i didn't know how much i was going to like it. the other really great guitars he sold me were an adamas 6 string just like the one larry coriel (sp?) is playing in the ovation book, and the prototype ss adamas 12 string. i can't believe i waited 35 years to treat myself to some really fine guitars. the neck on that adamas 12 string is almost sensuous. and it is hard to believe it is a ss when played unplugged. thanks brother bill!!!!! | ||
