Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | Hello everyone. I was looking at my 12 strings bridge, and this question came to me. How are acoustic guitar bridges mounted? Are they just glued down on the spruce top? Are there some kind of pegs that are under the bridge. With all that string pull, those 12 string bridges sure hold on well. Also, what type of adhesive is used to mount the bridges.....Paul Hebert |

Have a good weekend all.

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | Al, that binary resin is what you had mentioned in an earlier post about the smell of my 12 string. Is that the main adhesive used in Ovation guitars?....Paul Hebert |

Location: NJ | Hole in bridge.
Hole in top.
Bolt goes through both holes.
Nut gets tightened up inside guitar.
Bolt head is countersunk into bridge.
Bolt head is covered by little MOTS
dot that is fitted into the hole
in the bridge.
voila'!! (or walla as Norsey says ;) ) |

It seems that part of Ovation's lurch into the future has to do with innovative gluing techniques involving GASP! epoxies. They have benefitted from the almost indestructive qualities of epoxies where wood meets wood and wood meets plastic. |
