Joined: December 2008 Posts: 3 Location: Hanover, Indiana | I have recently inherited a 1986 collector's series 12 string. The model number is 2986-6 and the serial number is 883. The action was really high, but after a truss rod adjustment, taking a shim out from under the saddle, and some light gauge strings I found that the guitar sounds and plays wonderful. I don't have any plans to part with it, but from what I have read this is a pretty rare guitar. Can anyone tell me an approximate value? Also, this is my first post, and I don't have a clue how to add pictures. If someone can tell me how to do it I'll be happy to post a few.

Most of us do a history search both here and on eBay to get an idea as to the current market value of items. Presently the market is depressed for sellers. Again, welcome!

I am looking for one to match my 1986-6 as the pair would be very tidy together. They are very nice looking gits as they are based on the Balladeer but with a very nice soundhole inlay. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on the 1986 collectors so just enjoy the babe and think yourself lucky to own it. My 6 has an enchanting ringing tone on acoustic but very powerful on lecky which is a Fender Pro 175 combo. http://ovationfanclub.ning.com/photo/photo/listForContributor?scree... Regards, dave.

I was directed to a ".ning" site, so I signed up there and posted them, but I just used Jacob as my name instead of Jacobd, so you might keep that in mind if you are looking for the pictures. Thanks again.
