Hi. My name is Bob, and thanks for having me.

I have owned many high end all solid wood guitars, and have yet to be satisfied with them for some reason. I hear duddy notes on certain strings/frets, little things in the sound that bug me, barred chords not ringing out on the upper frets, and many brand new guitars on the verge of needing a neck reset, because the action is too high there is barely enough saddle to lower the action. Also, the tone seems to change with the weather on all solid wood guitars. One day it sounds wonderful, one day it sounds just ok, and some days it sounds not so good.

I have tried Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Yamaha, Alvarez, Larrivee, and probably others over the years, and none seem to satisfy me.

I have decided to try an Ovation, and ordered an Ovation Natural Satin 1767-4S-G from Sweetwater...

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/17674SG--ovation-usa-legend-...

I can't find much information about this guitar, but I feel like it's a good choice, or at least I hope it is.

Feel free to post any information and/or opinions on this guitar, and again, thanks for having me.

I have the Elite version of this model, and consider it up there with the anniversary models. Link to the thread:

Very good unplugged, due to the deep bowl.

Welcome to the OFC, Bob.
If you're willing to spend $2,400 for a venture into the unknown (at least your personal unknown), I applaud your faith. And yes, to various manner and degree, Ovations can react differently to weather/humidity changes and stability than all-wood guitars. I hope that you will keep us posted on your opinions. Meanwhile, congratulations on piquing my envy of your new acquisition.

Sweetwater has a 30 day return policy, and I was able to talk them down to.$1,939.00. It should arrive today, and I will update this thread once I get some time with it.

Thanks

I like that they used the Gotoh 21:1 tuners; I switched the gold ones for antique gold with oval buttons (still 21:1)
