Location: Montréal, Qc | Ovation official facebook page reply: This guitar was built in Korea. The round back was made in the US that is why it says that. |

"Bowl made by Ovation USA"
As to that sticker... That sticker is not original to the guitar.
Either the sticker was created as a replacement... or as a scam.
A previous owner may have lost the original and printed that one on his computer.

The labels have changed over the years. They don't use the Blue Labels any longer.
And Celebrity labels were not used on USA guitars.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Ovation CS257 are nice guitars.
Some OFC'ers will are made in USA snobs, but I owned a few of them.
But now that I look, I have no photos of any of them.
But I had one kinda like yours.
I had a Black one, and a Natural one, a Green one, and a coupla Red ones.
I was looking for a photo of a "waterfall" Red one that I had. (can't find it)
I had this beautiful rippled textured finish. And an OP-30 preamp.
Glad that you have it up and running.

Location: When?? | I've thoroughly enjoyed every USA Ovation I've ever owned, and while I agree with Arthur in that some loyal owners can be kinda snobbish about the USA aspect of it, Celebrity Ovations have also brought me great satisfaction as well. In the world of Asian-built guitars I still cannot find a brand that has a better and more historical across-the-board level of build quality, sound and aesthetic, old or new. Yours is an excellent example. Play on. |
