Location: Sunshine State, Australia | It's seriously cheap for what it is. Just pay up. It's worth it. TAFKAR (TANKAN) and I have been using it for years. Or try the much cheaper Android/iPhone/iPad version. I haven't used my Mac version since... well... um... I don't think I've used it at all recently actually. (How did we ever get this far without smartphones and Google???)

Location: Sydney, Australia | I agree with Muzz (did I just type that?). It's one of those aps I've never looked back on. And the money we spent prompted them to improve it. |

Location: Parrish, FL | I'm all set to hit the 'Spend' button, but hey $10 is $10. The little I've used it in demo mode it looks perfect for learning new songs. T28, my 'Instructional Manager' aka guitar teacher uses ASD so in order to keep it simple, that is where I'm heading. Thanks for the suggestion. |

In QT7 (Quicktime 7) you could use the A/V controls and adjust the playback speed of your file.
Can then save the adjusted file as needed.

This free download still works in OSX 10.9

Location: Sydney, Australia | Yeah, but the bit I like about ASD is that you can easily adjust the speed. I will work on a piece for a while, then tweak the speed up by 3-5% and go at it again until I'm smooth, then do it again. If I haven't touched it for a while, I need to slow it back down a tad first. ASD makes this process hassle free. |
