I've seen him a couple of times playing acoustic, electric and nylon (last night as well) in addition to the mando and the boy can definitely play.

I was amazed not only by Casey and his mando but that CRYSTAL BOWERSOX , our homegirl is doing so well too: Her friend and promoter Kat Fitzgerald handles our shows at the "Magnolia" here in Chicago. All last year Guitars/Fire gigged side-to-side, so to speak, with Crystal at the "Uncommon Ground" on Devon. We still can't sing but SHE is fantastic!

Casey can definitely play guitar but I think that AI is letting the contestants stray from the fact it is a "SINGING" competition.

Early years was strictly singing....no holding onto crutches like guitars, mandos, etc.

I kinda miss that and overall I think it is much more difficult to sing standing alone with a mic than while hiding behind an instrument.....altho if I had a set a pipes like these kids do, I would never hide behind any props.

Except for a hat, so the reflection of the klieg lights off'a that billiard ball ya got for a head wouldn't blind the audience...

(boom!)

I actually usually do try to catch the last few episodes - the contestants at that point are usually pretty good performers.

Personally, I like the show. It's music after all. It's real, no studio work doctoring the singing to make it in tune. Most even play the guitar very well. I hate the "themes" they have deal with, and they should be able to pick any song they want to sing. Movie tunes? Please....

That kind of comment is uncalled for from a genetically engineered race of people who are known for the thick luxurious mane of hair and caterpillar style mustaches that they can grow overnight.

besides I have hair on top of my head. You just have to be close enough to see it!.....plus I got a manly ring around the rim of the ball.

Now if were talking billiard ball bald, let's get Slipkid's opinion. :p

G8r's got so much hair on his body it would take a Balinese sweat shop (or the Blueberry factory workers) 5 hard years to remove it all.

Unfortunately, Casey's lost his umph and I blame the judges for it. He's thinking too much now because of them. He needs to just do his thing.

Lee's more appealing to my ears, but Mamasox blows 'em all away.

Yes I'm an Idol watcher though I can do without the silly crap in the auditions. I get all teary watching these kids get their chance to make it big doing what they love doing.
