Dear OFCers,

Almost 2 years that I was waiting for this moment and I'm so happy to announce that the repairs with some modifications for the Proto #11 are now started since few weeks.
The guitar should be finished in 2011 and I'm glad to share these very first photos with you.
I've made a page dedicated to the project and the PHOTOS ARE HERE.

I'm sure that you will appreciate the work already done, these guys are very talented!!

You can imagine my emotion when I saw these pics for the first time... ;)
I'll add more pics on this page in the future if possible.

2011 will be a great year for sure!!

J :)

I hope their expertise meets (exceeds) your expectations.
I know it wasen't much of an "instrument" when I saw it at Sam's.

I remember what Marcel Dadi said about the first Adamas proto (#22) he discovered when Charlie Kaman brought him to Francfort in 1975, and after that when Bob Wood gave him the #19 in Nashville : he loved this guitar but even more if she had a slothead and a shorter beveled fingerboard... you made it with the #11 and the factory Jerome !!! I already love what this historical guitar will be !!!

Yes Moody and many thanks for that : I really love that so beautiful and so easy to play CA ! The original CA (1624 or 1674) is for me something else because it was Marcel's nylon string guitar, but this one - with so beautiful spruce top and so perfect neck angle and action - is the best CA I ever saw, really ! Not acoustically the best nylon guitar... but I love it !

And I already love what is doing Jerome with the factory on that old proto too !

Remy, there was something about the wood Ovation used in 1983. It was simply spectacular. And that guitar was special, no doubt about it. When I've seen pictures of get togethers with you guys, I can pick that guitar right out.

I still think about it....

Some of my wished were possible to realize, some others were not so I told them to do their best and I trust in the team of New Hartford.
Before, it was a piece of history just for hanging on the wall but after the repairs, it will be a true instrument and probably the earliest playable Adamas prototype.
This project came in my mind during the OFC tour in 2007 when I discovered the Slotheads and Protos in the "magic room" at the Factory.
I told myself that the Proto #11 deserves to be repaired and with your help, it will be soon reality.

A few parts of the repairs are not written but I'm very confident in the talent and taste of the technicians to do the best.
When I see this neck, I have no doubt.
All the rest will be minors changes.

J :)
