A while back I decided to have my dream guitar built. In doing so I knew I would have to make some tough choices.

In order to pay for my dream guitar, I have to sell off the guitars I have. My Elite 1537 is one of those guitars. I have 3 guitars I could have kept: my Adamas II, my Elite 1537, or my Custom Legend.

It is like a baseball trade: you have to trade quality to get quality. The 1537 is really a beauty of a guitar.

I've decided to keep the Adamas II, so the other two have to go.

The Elite 1537 is the first because it is the best. I will let it go for $550 + shipping & handling.

If I don't hear anything back in the next week, then it is off to EBay.

A Paragon GOM style with walnut sides and back, redwood top, low profile neck for finger picking, flamed maple binding with walnut purfling, Gotoh 510 tuners, medium jumbo frets, pre-war sytle bracing. It probably won't be done until August of next year, but based upon the Paragon I already own and rave reviews other owns have given Paragon, the new guitar is really going to be a thing of beauty.

Take a look at some of Paragon's other guitars here...

Paragon users baby pictures

I'm still keeping enough Ovations so I don't get thrown out of here :D

Pretty nice stuff. Casting pearls before swine, in my case. Where is the shop?

Brad, is the Paragon line connected to the Larivee organization? I think Larivees are made in BC, also.

Both luthiers are former Larrivee employees. Larrivee moved to California a couple of years ago.

Thanks, Brad- that answers another question I had. I saw a bunch of Larrivees (sorry 'bout my original spellin') at The Guitar Emporium in Ballard (kinda northwest of downtown Seattle) about a year ago. The guitars had two different labels- Vancouver, BC and (I think) San Rafael, or Santa Rosa, CA. Wasn't sure if they started in California and went north, or vice-versa. Nice instruments, to be sure. The purveyor of the establishment was very indulgent to my relative ignorance & naivete. A pleasant experience, in a quaint section of town.
