Location: Massachusetts | New Member. Have the opportunity to purchase a used Balladeer 1111 for $200. I don't know how old it is, but it is in great shape. Any thoughts? Is this a good deal? |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | Yes--she will be a wonderful guitar. I have one, too, and think of her as my "grand ol' lady," the matriarch of my collection. Go to the Ovation website and find the link that checks age by serial number range; you'll get a rough idea of how old she is.

Location: CA | Have you played it I hope? I have one of these (bought new in 1971) that I still have, still play, and still sounds good. The odd thing, compared to more modern O's is that the neck is much narrower — comparatively — at the nut than any of the more modern Ovations I've seen or played. That has always been a 'difficult' point for me as I have fat fingers. For me, the newer necks are much more comfortable. |

Location: nashville | What you will be doing is buying an upgrade guitar for the same price as a starter guitar. Does it have the orgianl hardshell case? If the henges are rusty, bar keepers friend will clean them up nicely w/a little elbow grease and a good leather cleaner will work great on the case then armor all it up for a new looking case. |
