Location: Andover, Hants, England | As an Adamas 1581 11 owner/player for some twenty years....I am looking for a change....
Anyone selling any model Adamas, please give me a shout, especially deep bowl and preferably cutaway....
Now I know some may think I'm mad....and has been said! :) ...
but I figure it is time for a change and so looking for something to inspire me further.
Also, anyone know if I would have to pay an import duty here in the UK on a used guitar, from the States?
Cheers,
David. |

Location: Scotland | You will be charged VAT and import duty regardless of whether the guitar is new or used. Total for both is around 23% of declared value. There's also a Customs clearance fee which varies depending on the carrier. |

[/QB] Under-declaring is not only illegal it's also something of a double-edged sword. If you buy a $1500 guitar and the vendor declares it at say $500 you'll score on the VAT and duty. But if the courier trashes or loses the consignment the insurers will only pay out to the declared value. It's not worth the risk. |
