Pretty! I have always wondered how the McPhersons sound and play. I've never seen on in the flesh, or in the wood...

I got to play Paul Baloche's MG3.5 rosewood last November - suffice it to say that a custom McPherson is on my short list after that. Beautiful craftsmanship, cool design, and serious sustained tone. Way better than any Taylor or Martin I've ever played (sorry Tup...limited experience ;) ). That, and the unique wood combinations they offer as "stock" models, I think is just too cool to pass up. Of course, you could get a nice custom Adamas slothead for about two thirds of that...

The hole is in the wrong place!
Just wanted to state the obvious.
But that back is awesome.

I've not played them a great deal, they sounded OK to me, but I didn't really have enough time with them. It seems like the sound should be half way between a round hole and archtop. I like the Collings better.
My point to Randy was this. Take this guitar and a $5000 Collings and try to sell each 2 years from now. You'll probably get more if not all back from the Collings. The McPherson, you don't know.

I posted a while back about them. At that point i had used one a few times , it was ok. By now i`ve used them a fair amount and for myself i don`t see what all the fuss is about. They are well built, super nice case but i have a Breedlove OM travel guitar that sounds as good to me and i got it for what the taxes would be on a McPherson.

They are OK...on the Keaggy comment - I've seen him play a lot...his OLson spends the most time in his hands...it's even pricier...
