| Never see any of the older CL's for sale or trade anymore. I've always wanted one of the early models, but might have waited too long. |

I know that my '85 1659-1 Custom Legend is staying in my 'stable'!
Good luck in your search! |

Do you have a bowl preference? I've got a shallow bowl CL headed my way that was supposedly built in the 80's. I'm probably going to put it (and a couple others) up for sale to pay for my mothership projects. (MAN! Gas was bad enough when I just tried to buy these dumb things! Now for some reason, I want them to be nearly perfect as well. I think I may be sick.....sick, sick, sick. ) |

| I should have made myself a bit clearer. Iffy, I understand the $$$ thing. I hope to do a trade of some kind, or possibly sell one or two others first. Patch, I am looking for an early 80's model, deep bowl, and I would prefer the straight acoustic version. Trader, I saw the Anniversary, and I do have one of those without the electronics. basically a CL without the abalone body trim. BT717, thanks for the offer. He isn't giving a lot of information on that one. Looks to be a newer model, though.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I stumbled on one in a local guitar store. I think it was from the 70s. Someone here was looking for one and when I went back it was gone. It sounded great, but there was something wrong with the electronics. |

Location: CA | They're out there. Try googling 'Ovation Custom Legend craigslist' and it will bring up most of those listings across the country. Also be sure to check out http://customlegendfan.blogspot.com/ for neat CL trivia and drool quotient. They are beautiful guitars. |
