This is an upgrade from that and looks to have quite a few improvements, including an Adamas-sound setting (: (imagine that ... somebody wants their guitar to sound like an Adamas) web page

The only "noise" I have noticed is when one of the presets is adjusted incorrectly. and the 1/4 inch jacks are a little flimsy, which can give a crack if you accidently kick it. This new one is made of metal, and is a lot more sturdy. It also has various guitar body modeling sounds. The ones I have are pretty nice for those who don't have the money to spend on a rack-mount effects module, but want the various options like chorus, delay, reverb, modeling and lot of others. This new model isn't as cheap, but offers something somewhere in the middle. They are selling for about $189 for the one with a built-in pedal, and of course lists for over $300.

I have recorded from the Acoustic II using a 1/4 inch patchcable - through a direct box. The older version doesn't have direct out but the new one does. It also comes with a USB output and computer recording software. I will probably get one and try that out.

I have a recent Digitech interface modeling gizmo (RPX 400): works great etc. but it's 100% geared toward electric players and needs. It's a real advantage to have a guitar-player friendly interface box dedicated to us acoustic-ers with an Adamas "image" to boot. How much does the Zoom sell for in decent stores sites? -------------- dobro/v "mel. min. mode 5: how much more beautifuler does it get?"

The pedal-less one you've seen has an input jack for an add-on pedal, but I like having it all in one package. The more things you have to have plugged into something, the more jack issues you can end up with. I guess that's one of those personal preference issues.

Problem was all I wanted was to do acoustic stuff with a mic and direct. The Digitech is only marginally friendly to that approach. None of the presets or effects were remotely applicable, for example.
