Well not quite -- i did a search but really didn't find what i was looking for in the first few pages.

i just picked up a 1647 (Thanks Dave!!) and it is my first nylon string guitar. So in my most newbie fashion.... :p

what nylon strings would you all recommend for my new guitar? :)

Adamas 4646 nylons...work really well on the 1624 I just bought. As far as longevity, I'm not sure, as I've only had it a couple weeks.

D'Addario EJ46 Hard Tension.

Or EJ45 Normal Tension.

Edenharvest, How do you like your 1624? I saw you won one on ebay a few weeks ago.

I think people should quit posting topics that encourage SlotHeadFred to post replies.

I like the Savarez 520P1's!! All wrapped e to E... You will love them or hate them. the Trebles are as thick as the basses, and have texture, but they sound great. I'm going to put JP Thomastics back on my 1763 and use it for jazz... Ask Jeff how he likes the Savarez Corums w/ New cristal trebles on his Hirade. I bet he hasn't worn them out yet :D :p :D :p

Ok i picked up both the EJ46's and the 520P's ($14! that's not going to fly). Put on the EJ's first. My god! how long does it take for these things to stop stretching!!

Jeesh! what a pita.

One of the reasons I bought a 1773LX, aside from the fact that it's a great guitar, is that with a nylon string, having a built in tuner is a major luxery.

Figure it'll take a couple of days for the major stretching to be done.
