Just joined the club an hour ago, from up here in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
What a great bunch of folks, here on this Fan Club! I've been a non-member, reading daily, not joining afraid I may not be a needed contributor...but after being an Ovation enthusiast and overall collector for 30 years, I am sure I will come up with something. While I am here, can someone help me date a local "for sale" Adamas 1685-7 Serial #4518. I am just about ready to buy. How old is this thing? Is it really an Adamas II ? Thanks, in advance...hope I can contribute favors.

Dating an Adamas may result in some strange looks at the restaurant, plus they never go dutch, always a prerequisite in my book.

I never date an Adamas. I usually just book an hour of their time for $250-$300. Then I go home to my wife.

Wow, high class! Round here it's a quick $50 rub & tug from a Taylor.

I'm sure the Norseman is glad to hear from somebody north of Minnisota. You are north of Minnisota aren't you? If you buy that Adamas, let us ordinary people know how it sounds and plays.

I just checked a map, and Toronto isn't north of Minnisota. It's north of Ohio where I used to suffer in the winter, I think there is no habitable land north of Minnisota. I went to Niagara Falls on my honeymoon as was expected in 1957, the Canadian side was much nicer than the American at that time. Our high school class in 1953 also went to the Falls on the class trip and the same thing was noted.

I'm sure you guys can contribute greatly to the board so jump right in there with observations and opinions about our favorite brand of guitar (and mandolin).

Great...bought it last night...$695.00 Canadian with the black hard case. Got it home, took only a few moments to realize I scored. I have a collection of guitars and only one amp; a Fender Ultimate Chorus, so it won't allow the poor thing to glean a good sound, but so what for now. Thanks again for the support folks.
