Hey everyone,

I own a U.K. II Electric which is the brown sunburst version. It has everything the UK II was known for (the outlets for stereo and mono, series and parallel switches on pickups, gold hardware, ebony fretboard and nice inlays) and it's in good condition except a few scratches here and there. I also have the original case with it, which is brown also. I'm looking to sell this guitar most likely on Ebay, or to anyone here if they are in search of one of these. I'd like to get an idea about the price I should sell it for, I've seen one on ebay for $700, the local guitar stores around here only offered me $150-175 for it, so I've been dealing with a wide price range. If I sell it on ebay, I will probably start it at $350, but I'd like to get an idea from someone who knows about what a good selling price would be.

Thanks,

Sean Green

I think I would agree with cwkII on that, it seems to be one of the best electrics that Ovation built and there aren't going to be any more, so don't be afraid to ask a good price. (If I had any money, I would tell you to sell it cheap and scarf it up).

but remember, there is also a black uk2 that is almost 3 or 4 weeks on ebay don't expect too much! This guitar is superb but very underestimated, unfortunately.

Ok, well thanks for your replies, that will help me out. I noticed that black Uk II on ebay had not sold, but he had it priced way to high... I'm not afraid to put it up for 450 now. If I don't sell it, I'll just lower the price.

Anyone here looking to own one of these? It's in great condition.

I am going to give you some advice based on too many years of having instruments that later turn out to be worth something after I gave them away, if you aren't totally broke, hold out for what it is worth or put it in a closet and sell it when the idiots wake up.

Thanks Bailey,

Well if it doesn't happen to sell for what I think is reasonable, then I might just do that. I could use the money though, and I don't use the guitar as much as my other one. Thanks for the advice though.

hi sean,

well, to help you in your dilemma, the vintageguitar.com price list says that the ukII is 600 in low and 800 in high condition worth. So I think you'll get a better price if you sell on commission it in a big music store.

Well there is a few guitar shops around here that do commission, but I don't know who would pay that much for it. I figure that on Ebay I'll most likely find someone who really wants one and is willing to pay the right price. The stores around here are only willing to give me less than 200, so I think they feel they won't be able to sell it for much. Anyways, if Ebay doesn't work out, I'll try what you suggest.

Thank you,

Sean

Sean, could you send me some pictures of your UK2? I might have someone that wants it. I tried to email you, but the email kept coming back. Thanks

Paul,

I sent you an email about the guitar, did you happen to get it?
