I just got this one the other day and it's missing the inside label. It had a triangle pattren rosette, Triangle inlays, and an OP24+ pre amp. Here are photos.

Thanks,
John S

It looks very much like the Model N724 Country Artist EXCEPT for the triangles. I am by far not an expert and will defer to the more knowledgable of our Clan as to its' true origins. I am going to assume you tried the Ovation website. If not you may be able to identity it there. That's IF you don't get tired of navigating through model numbers, then photos, then back button, then model numbers, then more photos...., you'll see what I mean.
At any rate it looks to be a very nice "O".

It has steel strings so it can't be a Country Artist and it also isn't a slothead (Folklore) so it must be a custom order or maybe for the overseas market????

Hmmmmmmmm......nice looking guitar though!

One of the odd offerings of Celebrity would be my guess. Two piece neck, double secured bridge.

How does it sound and play?

Good guess! I missed the bolted bridge and was trying to determine from the picture if it was a 2 piece or 5 piece neck! (looked a bit like the new style narrowed 5 piece "skunk stripe")

John,
How about a view of the pre-amp side.
My guess is it is either a celebrity offering or one of the special in-store models made for either sam Ash or guitar center. I've never seenone before. It looks nice.

In July of 2002 Hizzoner asked:

I would appreciate it if someone in the Club could give me some intel on this sweet Elite 12-string a friend of mine just picked up. SN 353616, model number 1758.
It has what appears to be maple triangle fret inlays instead of pearl. Non-cutaway. Brown back, brown case. Here are my questions:

1) What do each of the four numbers mean in the model number?

2) What models had the maple inlays vs pearl inlays?

3) Any other history?

My friend found this in the used section of Mars Music here in San Antonio. He paid I believe $550 for it. Sweet sounding guitar!!!

???

Sounds like you have the 6 string counterpart of sorts. The Elite would be multi-soundhole-this one-center Soundhole. It may even be a baladeer model of sorts. This model appears to have a thinline pick-up saddle. I didn't think of Mars. Since the company is now Defunct. But I do remember talk That there were some special Ovation models done for them as well over the years.

The serial # is 522077 1997 Model ? and the battery cover does say Celebrity on it. It must be some special model of Celebrity, maybe offered by Mars or GC. It sure is a nice guitar, If anyone finds anything else out let me know.
