Hey guys, haven't posted here in awhile: but I need your help once again.

My friend and I are going to be playing in a coffee shop in two weeks as a guitar duet - thing is, I just got the offer today and have never played in a guitar duet situation before - especially with two weeks to get stuff together.

Can anyone suggest good songs for this kind of situation?

PS. It'd have to be all instrumentals, as neither of us can sing. Something mellow or a little jazzy or bluesy would probably suit our needs. We need around 45 minutes worth of material.

Thanks in advance!

I love the stuff by "Acoustic Alchemy".

"Tubular Bells" Okay, Maybe not...
Some of the instrumental stuff by Heart, but I have no idea where you would get the Tabs, cuz the stuff I've heard was just live (sorta) on the radio.

Oh yes! I forgot to mention...if anyone can post links to tab or sheet music or guitar pro tab files, please do! That'd be really great.

And to StephenT: I just got the guitar pro tabs for the song "With You In Mind". Sounds very good and is nice and simple to get together. I think that'll be one of the pieces we'll play, once I send him the music.

It's easy, you just each play every other note.

Two weeks is not a lot of time for two people to learn new material together. Have you considered throwing in some instrumental versions of songs you may both know? Maybe some old CSN stuff, for example.

Acoustic Alchemy is great stuff but might be a bit challenging in the next two weeks. I think we might really only be able to answer this if we knew more about your styles, your ability level, vocal ability, etc. Suggestions could range from Early Beatle/Everly Bros stuff to Barenaked Ladies to U2/Springsteen/Seger to Colin Hay.

That's rather conservative. I would say about 4, and 2 more to spell the main players, after the first song!

Most Jim Croce stuff would be good. I don't know of any good tabs with the second guitar, though.
