i don't know exactly how the r & r hall of fame works but one of my favorite bands the moody blues finally made it into the hall of fame after being around for 54 years with huge hits and as the same band still selling out concerts to this day. when i look at some of the short lived rappers and some bands that had a go for 5 - 6 years are already in it. seems to me that something doesn't add up right. another band that took a long time was the yes. they were another band that has been consistantly putting out great music for over 40 years and they just got into it in the last few years. i know they say that the people have to vote them in but what people?
i don't understand the procedure to get elected into the r & r hall of fame.
any insight on this ? GWB

I don't know that procedure, but the RRHOF definition of "Rock-n-Roll" is pretty loose.
I think that you have to Pay someone and kiss someone's ring.

But I am glad that the Moody Blues got inducted.
Better late than Never, huh?

The reason some of the greatest artists are so late being inducted is essentially the same reason there are lousy films that you have never even heard of being nominated and winning best picture at the Academy Awards. It's not about WHAT you do, it's about WHO you do, and the self-patronizing of the busine$$ always takes precedent over the quality of the product when the industry is busy celebrating itself for the sake of celebrating itself.

My sister went to school in Austria in the early 70s and raved about the Moodies, just about the time Nights in White Satin hit the charts in the US. My brother and I have been big fans since. They had an anniversary tour a few years ago where they charged $10 a ticket, the same price they charged in the 70s. Best show for the money ever.

The R&R HoF is a joke as far as I'm concerned.
I wouldn't walk across the street to visit it much less travel to Cleveland.
