| I bought a balladeer sunburst back in the 80's
and loved the guitar. Even when the finish cracked on it. But ended up losing it in a pawnshop. Went on to play all wood guitars after that. But recently I bought a cc057 celebrity from guitar center, enjoyed playing it for acouple of months and knew I had to move up the line. So back to Guitar Center to upgrade.
Up in the back corner of the wall I saw a
blue ovation, it turned out to be a cdx44-8t
Solid wood top with pro op electronics(didn't know they had solid top celebrity) so I bought it
and wouldn't trade it. It plays sweet,so I
guess ovation is improving their celebrity Deluxe
series in 2007. Any one else had any doings with the new line of Celebrity Deluxes? |

Ovations are the only way to play, they have a
tone all in their own right. So on the ultras,
what did they change? |

Location: Lakewood, Ohio | I like the new Koa CSE34. The end of the fretboard over the body looks like a USA Ovation; with the longer angle end. I think alot of the new Celebritys have that now. Also the fret markers are the Elite triangles, done in abelone or something similar. I dont think its solid koa. |

My youngest son has a CC047 , LeftHand , sports a Solid Top , it`s about 4 yrs. old , compared to my USA made O`s , the lower bout is a little Wider/Fatter..Nice Warm , yet Clear sound , with msp 3100 12 -54 on it.

Location: Reading, Pa. | I have a 1511 Ultra series I bought used for 100$. Love the guitar and the tone. How much better are the newer modals. Is there any problem in re-fretting a 1511? |

Location: Tennessee | The new Ultras are all solid top guitars, and are assembled and set up in the US factory with the same bowls and electronics that are found on the USA models. They have lots of nice bling and I've seen some with really nice bearclaw tops and contour bowls. They are not cheap, but they are worth the money IMHO.
I have an old 1311 Ultra. Different beast altogether. 25 years old, made in the US, laminate top with a funcky top ring. I love that guitar, even if it is the ugly, red-headed kid of the family.
Refretting your 1511 should not be a problem. |

| I imagine that a refret job is going to cost more than what you paid for the guitar.
But I understand the love for a certain guitar. |
