For those that do not pray, I would ask if you could find a place in your heart for one day. For the Brave Men and Women of the United States Armed Forces.

GWB accessories, strings.tuners ,picks, ect . these vets are giving their all to keep people like us to have the freedom that we take for granite every day .

Wow again, Thank you brother. Nick I want to thank you also. I am at the VA in Dayton, Ohio all the time. Everyone I get to talk to I always thank them and say "Welcome Home" Some of the older Veterans I could just sit and listen to them talk for hours. A lot of times, the ones that live there, seem to just want to talk, laugh and have a smoke outside, Since I have all the time in the world, I'll sit, listen, laugh with them and listen some more. Again thanks you guys, Oh an Nick believe me It was my pleasure and calling to serve.

Not to forget the many vets from unknown actions, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, Army, Air Force. Active, Reserve, and National Guard. In addition, to all of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice or have come back with physical or mental impairments. Many homeless are vets who carry the scars of their sacrifice for all of us. For those who fought along side of out forces. I also honor them at this time. Australian, Canadian, British, French, Polish, Hungarian, and so many others. They are our brothers. 1st Marine Division adopted "Waltzing Matilda" in respect for the Australians in WWII. When I had the 4th Landing Support Battalion (Seattle), the Officers and Regimental Piper would come down from Canada to share our Dining In (yes, in kilts). Without them and those from hundreds of years ago, we would not have the freedoms we have today. We need to honor them and protect the honor of those that made our freedoms possible. It is not just a holiday. It is a time to remind out children and grandchildren of the sacrifices made. We can never forget. Semper Fi Tony Calman, Lt.Col, USMC (Ret'd)

We would have none of the freedoms we enjoy had it not been for our men and women in the service to our country. May God Bless you and your endeavours.

Not in a nostalgic way, but I occasionally look through my sheet music collection and see WWII Hits, WWI Hits, and recall several tunes that eluded to Vietnam. Some happy, some said, some just honest and rather odd really, but interesting and entertaining just the same. At some point, that seems to have stopped. Maybe it's on youtube from indie artists, but I haven't really found any. Some of the Vietnam ones are very clever in that you don't know what they are about until you research them. All the tunes on Queensryche's American Soldier album a couple of years were inspired from firsthand interviews he did with soldiers in the field, but non are the ditties of WWII. Where are The Royal Guardsmen (Snoopy vs the Red Baron) today ?

When I am in a restaurant and see a uniformed service member at a table, I find the manager and ask to pay their tab anonymously. The last time I did it for a guy I overheard him ask who paid for him. The manager said he couldn't say. The guy went to the door, stopped, turned around and surveyed everyone in the room before leaving. I felt good knowing that for all he knew it could have been anyone in there who did it for him. Easy and cheap way to show gratitude.
