A friend from another forum is going (he's actually a former authorized Ovation repair dude amongst very many other things like creating the Peavey T-series guitars and introducing CNC technology into guitar neck mfg).

What a great place to see one of his final performances, huh?

I have been able to catch a couple of his goodbye concerts and will be able to catch another one at the end of the month, where I will probably be arrested for stalking. Alzheimer's hoopla aside...Glen still puts on a memorable evening.

moody, did you make it to the Hollywood Bowl?

I wish. No. There's a short youtube video with GC at a beach bonfire playing a little guitar with somebody. It was from July 4. Boy if I had that opportunity, there'd be only one song I'd want to play with the man.....

I saw Glen tonight in Sewell, NJ - he spent about 5 minutes trying to pronounce it, which was pretty funny. His voice is still great. His guitar playing is still good, but definitely slipping. It appeared that he didn't know any of the words and was reading them all off of a teleprompter. That being said, both the wife and I thought it was a great show. His kids played a few songs before he came on and they were pretty good in their own right. During the show, whenever he started to talk too much, they would jump into the next song. He really couldn't speak at all... which is amazing when you hear how well he sings.

Guitar wise, there were two Ovations - a black EA68 and what looked like a 12 string version of the 2007BCS. Did they make such a thing, or could that have been a custom job? It was gorgeous! Glen played the Viper. He also played a really neat looking 12 string Hamer - in that same sparkly blue as the bluebird. My favorite though was a strat looking guitar that looks almost identical to my blue strat - blue body, maple neck/fingerboard, white pg.

I'm really happy that I got to see him and I think it's really cool that he gets to do this with his kids. If you get a chance - go see the show, you won't regret it.

Oh yeah - Al's twin was there. Same beard, hair, hat, height, weight, glasses - I had to look a few times. The only difference was that this guys wife was blond.

Glen plays that blue G&L...Glens boy, shannon, plays an Adamas and the kid from Victoria's Ghost that hangs back with the bass player, has switched to a 12 string Adamas.

Poor Al...you probably busted him. What happens in Sewell....

Here's a review from the show here last night. My daughter had a basketball game so I didn't see it.
