My request, I have turned my brother in law onto Ovation guitars. He purchased a Tornado on ebay, and it is awesome. Problem; It does not have the original neck and tail piece with the wammy bar. Because of this the strings do not cross the poles of the pickups correctly. Even so the guitar is fantastic. He is an expert in wood work and the neck on it now has a 2nd marking on it. The neck is not wide enough thus the problem with the pickup poles. Anyone who may have one and or the tail piece please e-mail me. Thank you kitmann

These came both with the Vibrato bar and also without. The ones without had a trapeze style tailpiece. It might benefit you to throw some pictures up here so we know what we're dealing with. FWIW, the strings don't line up on mine proper either and I have the proper tailpiece and bridge on it. ![]()

Any other neck would need to be modified. As Damon mentioned, the bridge controls where the strings lay, and I've only seen a couple where the strings go "almost" perfectly over the poles.

As for how they sound, well they're well documented all over the web in different forums and different review boards. They get pretty much any sort of tone I've ever tried for. My bass player plays a Music Man, but wanted to use my Magnum for one of our recent recordings. If you want to hear a sample, you can listen here. Actually I'm playing a UKII and the acoustic is a Book Elite (1768-7LTD). So all the guitars are Os in this one song... Comfortable
