Location: Corpus Christi, TX | Unfortunately it is my Custom Legend 1869. The rattling starts on the low E sting at the 5th fret on up. Not as noticable on the higer strings.
Reached in and moved the wires around and it seemed to diminish some but the old tap the thumb on the top test produces a snare drum sound.
Remember a thread a while back that addressed this but couldn't find it.
Any suggestions on how to inspect the inside with a mirror, IE what tale tale signs am I looking for and will it be obvious?

Location: Bellevue, Washington | I would check for loose braces, 1157 of mine had the same issue. Just put a little wood glue on there and let it set, worked like a charm! |

Location: Hanau, Hessen, Germany | I had this with my UTE recently. Two braces were loose at the end. If you can reach in the bowl try to check that carefuly. It took me some time to find the problem as the braces did seem tight, but at the very end they came off just a little bit. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Using a mirror inside is a lot easier if you rig up a night light bulb and put it in the guitar first. Much easier than using a flash light. |

Location: Corpus Christi, TX | Sometimes things wotk out. I spent quite a while inspecting the inside with a flex lite and an inspection mirror. Everything inside that I could see was pristine and intact.
Not sure what made me zero in on the battery but popped out the battery and the problem went away. Maybe the battery was slightly shorter than normal or over the years the springs that push on the battery terminals have gotten weaker.
The fix was a simple matter of putting some foam towards the top of the battery holder then sliding the battery in to compress the foam. So now it is nice and snug in it's holder. Slid it into the guitar and no more buzz.
