Just curious ...I'm seeing a lot of u-tube clips from around '81 or so, with him playing a grey UKII with Journey.

Anyone know where that UK is today? That would be very cool to have .. :D

Someone would have to admit to listening to Journey first... that might be difficult for some.

At the time Ross Valerie played a magnum too.

I'm more of a Neal Schon fan, than a Journey fan ... Schon is truly one of the great under- rated players of all time. And even with Journey, from its 3 first albums (pre Perry) up to the period that Perry basically hijacked the groups direction and turned it into a giant power ballad smaltzfest ... Schon still blazed every chance he could get. And when he didn't find it in Journey, he did solo records.

Anyways ... :-)He's went through a ton of gear over the years ...it'd be truly awesome to track down his UKII.

FWIW, Jeff Ament (Pearl Jam) uses a Magnum quite a bit for recording. I've never seen him use it live, but you can see I caught the headstock with my camera at one of their shows at The Gorge.

Thats cool about the bass usage too. I've always thought Ross is a decent player. To me, a big part of Journeys 'soul' came back when he resumed the bass chair from Randy Jackson ...

The more original players, the better. Long live Neal, Ross. and Journey. (oh, Greg Rolie too) :)

I liked Journey a lot better before Perry took over the band.

Yeah, agreed. He's an amazing vocalist, but enuf was enuf.

You ever get those UK knobs, by the way? :-)
