Just a random question... I have clear pick-guards on two of mine, but I put them there. And I think I see guards on the carbon fiber tops. But if I see a brown one on an Ovation I wonder, is that an after-market add-on? A surface-tension stick-on, like mine? Or is that original equipment?
For Example: Pick Guard On Balladeer
Just trying to continue my Education...

(this is under "For Sale" but I ain't selling or buying. I'm just asking}

Where's your brother, Old Applause Owner when you need him?

Yes, the early Applause' had a Martinesque pickguard.

Yeah, I got two "clear pg thingies" But they are temporary. I got them before I learned that the finish is pretty-much indestructible. I really need to take the one off of the 4861 before it damages the wood.
(They say it won't, but... Gee, I'll do that now!)
But, anyway, they say that this is a USO S771? And I've seen others, but they looked to be Applause and Academy, Oh and one Matrix.

if you have good technique you don't need a pickguard

I believe it was Witko who coined the term "SnotGob" when making reference to the Adamas pickguard
