My friend doesn't want to pay that much just to add a tuner. Anyone got one in your parts bin? John <>{

It works perfect, even in loud environment because it gets it's signal from the vibration of the guitar through piezos (I hope I said that right) and not from the tone the guitar makes. Since I have it I do not use the built-in tuners anymore, because it works much better. Kurt

I did not want to say that it is superior to built-in tuners when it comes to tuning quality. But, for my purposes, it works better. I mostly play unplugged and do not have to worry if the akkus in my preamps are fully loaded (or for the VIP Preamp if I had a cable or dummy plug) or not. And I noticed when tuning the 12 string UTE with the Op-Pro Preamp the Korg is much more accurate. Since John said his friend does not want to spend that much money, this would be a reasonable prized solution, small, easy to use, that works great - and with all other guitars as well. But, if he is only looking for a built-in solution - I'd agree with Waskel and get an Optima. Kurt

But since I have the KORG AW-1 tuner I don't use the built-in one anymore. The KORG is much faster and more accurate. Best tuner I've ever had - but not a bargain. I guess it costs about $50 in the US. Karl

Two of my acoustic only Ovations were a hassle to get in tune - and my Boss tuners - one of them costs around 130,00 USD - could not get the job done perfectly. With buying the Korg AW-1 - I would say these two guitars were in tune perfectly for the first time ever. And these tuners are really "worthy", come in a nice case and look more expensive than they really are. Tell us your experience - and, to bad Karl and me did not get a parcel of shares before we recommended them. Kurt
