I was looking thru the guitars for sale on your website. Great looking guitars, great looking rug under the guitars.
Regarding the Thunderhead, it looks like it has gold humbucking pickups. Is that just a trick of the camera or is it true? Also the pickguard appears to be after market?
How do you keep from just sitting around and playing your inventory? |

Location: NJ | Paul I have a stand of 5 guitars that sit in my living room I rotate 3 of them on a regular basis there are a couple that are staples.
I also have my guitars that I take to jams gigs etc. Well the one bad feature of having tons of stuff is that you can justify it by saying it is all for sale.
as for that guitar the Thunderhead. Yes it does have gold hardware and pickups and that was standard. Miles and I bought about a dz guitars from a collector. I took the storm series Miles the solidbodies.
well I did not pick up the guitars for about 4months after the deal went down at that time I noticed that 2 of my 4 guitars did not have original cases which they were supposed to have and the thunderhead had a replacement gibson tunematic on it. At that time I had no recourse on the deal so I had to suck it up.
Well Miles located me a bridge but without the adjustment studs so I at least can find a base for it somewhere.
Miles brought the pickguard to my attention a month or so ago I have to dig the guitar out and find it and look at it. I HOPE this is not some aftermarket attempt at hiding a hole for a third pickup or something then I will really be mad but will have no way of going back on the deal now or ever so I am stuck with it.
funny some guitars hold bad vibes for me and I never use them because of how the deal went down or certain circumstances that surround them. I know I am strange some times. |

Location: NJ | Ok the mystery is solved. this discussion peaked my interest and I went to the big guitar pile and saw this case under 10+ other guitars and dug it out.
It is absolutely not original. The pickups look like gibson or gibson style humbuckers the pickguard around it is not original and neither is the bridge.
After close examination of this guitar I was just so disgusted with it when I got it I filed it away. I can tell you that the guy that sold it to Miles and subsequently myself hosed me. I know he reads this board so if he wants to make good on it he knows how to get in touch with me.
As for the guitar...anyone need any parts?????? |

Location: Scotland | Al, that bridge issue shouldn't matter. One of the really cool things about the Storm guitars is that under the cover-plate where the neck screws to the body you'll find an allen-bolt (similar to '70's 3-bolt "micro-tilt" Fender guitars) It's a breeze to adjust the neck-pitch. I fitted a Bigsby to my Tornado. The neck pitch was too shallow to make it work, there was no break-angle between the bridge & the Bigsby so I just jacked-up the neck with the allen-bolt, it works fine now. I didn't know about the allen-bolt when I did this, I was intending to install shims to correct the neck pitch. The end of the necks have a little metal disc for the allen-bolt to bear onto. If the Bridge on your guitar wont go low enough, just bring the neck-angle up to meet it.
