Hello to all my Ovation playin buddies! Special Hi to Trboy! Been sort of a ghost around here lately (to the joy of some perhaps), but just wanted to post. Been very busy putting my O's to work. Been using my 12's in worship services and church specials, used my Balladeer at the funeral of a friends mother (did the vocals with a pipe organ as well at that funeral, that was...different!), and I will be using my Legend to do music for my Grandmother's funeral this Thursday.

On the upside, I will be doing a wedding this July! Remember a little over a year ago, I first used my Legend at the funeral of a good friend's wife who was killed in a car crash? Well, he is getting remarried this July, and I have been asked to play a song or two during that ceremony. It is awesome to think I will be able to help a good friend's transition through such momentous times in his life!

I think it is virtually impossible to fully grasp the powerful role music plays in our lives.

Keep on strumin!

Peace,

Norse(the shadow)man1

Hey Norse!

Glad you're back!

Check with "Slap"... he just did a wedding gig and played the Wedding March...(great reviews!) I can send the Score/chords in PDF if you are interested...

Great to hear how you are being called to support! I picked up a 12 string that jumped in front of me and it is all they let me play at church any more.

The fingerprints are almost gone completely!

Thanks for the replies!

I'm not sure about the wedding march, but I know they want me to play "I Will Be There" by Steven Curtis Chapman. Thanks for the offer... and the greeting Tim, I'll let you know.

And I know what you mean M(and good to hear from you as well)Woody. I play almost exclusively 12 string with the worship team. They are amazed how well a 12 can fill out a score, or how awesome they are when accompanying a 6 string (something us old folk rock guys learned a looooooong time ago ;) ).

Well, I'm about to disappear for a while again. Catch you all Friday perhaps.

Take care.

Norse(Hope to someday make the tour or a get together of some sort, and meet many of you)man1

Peace.

Interesting commends of the 12 with a worship team. I have started to use a 12 with the worship team and it is great, but there are times when I think a 6 sounds better. Especially the hymns that call for a less complicated sound? Sometimes the 12 seems too chimey? Maybe I just am not used to it? Played Chapman's "I will be there" at a wedding 6 months ago. Good chick song.

It's been a long time since I've played a love song and eyed the Bridesmaids!

Good thing too!

OK Steve,

How about a little discipline here! If you're on the Adkins diet don't go into the bakery! And yes, I breath deeply when I walk by the Cinnabon Shop in the Mall.

Peace

Ooh, Cinnabon! I have a ritual when I fly anywhere...I always get an order of mini-bons and a Starbucks Caramel Frappucino before boarding. First you get a caffeine rush, then the sugar kicks in...then the shakes. Makes those seven hour flights more...interesting. :)
