It sounded a little muddy when I got it, but my oh my... IT'S OPENING UP NOW!!! And the sound is becoming AWESOME!!! I am in the process of recording a CD, and I decided to redo several songs, using the Custom Legend in stead of my Taylor and an (expensive) hand made guitar. The Custom Legend beats them all! And note: I'm talking about the UNPLUGGED sound here, just two external mikes, that's all. Actually it surprises me that this guitar is not MUCH more appreciated. In my opinion, it's the ultimate acoustic guitar. This is not to say that other guitars are bad, but the tone separation, the solid mids and the woody highs of the Custom Legend are just fantastic! Moreover, the guitar has a nice, controlled, even response that none of my other guitars get even close to. It's almost like playing with a limiter, SUPERB. I would not be surprised if I'm going to redo all of my sessions with this beauty. Compliments to Kaman Music! (BTW: pictures on http://www.eltjohaselhoff.com/custom_legend.htm)

I was reading some technical info on tung oil reaching full cure in 200 hours. No doubt (now) that the materials go through a breathing stage. Glad to hear it is coming together for you.

Tell me more about yours. What types are they? How do you use them? I could use three of four identical CLs. Would probably string 'em up in different tunings and/or gauges. And order them in different colors, so I can tell them apart... The CL is an incredibly sexy guitar. It just splashes off, so that even the layman can see: THAT is the ultimate acoustic guitar!!!
