| My strap let lose on me last night and my 1597 fell off my shoulder and directly onto the stap peg on the bottom of the bowl. SMASH! I cracked my bowl up pretty good. Good news is the bowl seems to be to only damage. Bad news. The bowl seems to be the only damage. I AM BUMMED!! Does anyone know where I can get a new bowl AND OR a good Luthier in the Philadelphia area that works on ADAMAS |

Second of all - Really sorry to hear about your loss. That is about the second worst sound you can hear is the crash of your guitar.
Thirdly - Contact Ovation Customer Service. See the Links to the left or visit the Ovationguitars.com site. They are the most capable and qualified to handle your woes.
Fourthly - invest in a straplock system of pins and catches! |

That's definitely good advice for everyone. The screw fell out of the bottom strap peg on my "new" Adamas I but I was able to keep the guitar from hitting the floor...a heart-stopping moment. The peg stayed in the strap and for a moment I thought the assembly had snapped until I saw the screw laying on the floor. Tightened the screw and wll look into a more secure attachment. Any recommendations? :)

Location: NW NJ | I use Dunlops on all my guitars too. Of course you never do until you have one of those heart stopping moments when one of your babies suddelny is in free fall toward the floor. Its kinda like backing up your hard drive. Seems like too much hassle until the day you boot up and the drive is gone... :eek: |

George, is it a wood screw or a machine?
I know that the one up by the neck on my two are tapped inserts in the bowl that machine screws screw into (I had to use the original screws when I replaced/upgraded my StrapLocks). Does the endpin on an Adamas screw into a tail block with a wood screw?? My SlotHead's got a turned walnut endpin that I assume is glued-in as it has no screw head/opening. Since the guitar doesn't have an access door, I can't tell how it's in . . .
If it's a wood screw, I'd coat the threads with some carpenters glue mixed with a little sawdust and screw it back in . . . . if it's a machine screw . . . . . I dunno . . . |

| Hey all, thanks for the suggestions. Funny thing is I have strap locks on both my Strats and my Epi-Sheraton. Why I didnt lock up my favorite and most expensive guitar will forever huant me! that being said, I talked to Kim at Ovation. He was a great dude and told me to ship the guitar to him. He said he would personally take a peek at it and see what he can do for me. |

Strap Locks! Only way to go. Each guitar I have bought I figure in the price of the Schallers and a new strap. First thing that happens is these are installed when I get it home.
