MOVED FROM GENERAL FORUMS

THE BELOW HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL THE EVENING OF WEDNESDAY FEB 8, 2012

Found a few minor bugs that needed tending to.

Hello Everyone,
I'm posting this here in the general area to insure it gets seen by the widest audience.

In the next couple of days we will transition to the new software. I am planning on Monday evening.

The first thing you will notice is that we have expanded the categories. You will now have more places to place your post. Moderators will be able to take an entire post and swap the topic area so if you place something in the wrong space we can now move it.

There will be some forums that are only viewable by members and they include specific forums to contact Al or myself with questions or concerns and also forums for some groups such as Praise or Worship Musicians and Women Ovation Musicians.

There will be a dedicated forum for Electric and Storm Series discussions and even the Downunderers will likely be joining us in their own forum. The Downunderers while viewable by all members, will require special access. It's just a matter of asking to be a part of the group, I will let the current members decide on the specifics.

The Welcome Center is refined so only newly registered folks and those who request to be part of the Welcoming Committee will be able to post there. The moderators will easily be able to upgrade any newly registered user to a full member with a single click of the mouse.

Matt Smith has assured us that he is going to resurrect his sections and will post at least monthly with his tips and techniques that are purely his.

If you have any suggestions for any other areas that you may feel there is a need please let us know. We don't want to see it get too fragmented but all ideas will be absolutely taken under consideration.

Thanks so much for your continued support and patience as we move to the future.

With this new software we expect an influx of new users due to it's higher visibility on the web. With that said we are asking for some assistants.

1. Moderators for the Welcome Center. Essentially gate keepers to approve (or not) new members as they join. In a perfect world, these would also be members of the Welcome Committee to help get these new users questions answered. In many cases, actually in most cases, this area and their first question is the ONLY question they will have, with no desire to become part of the Ovation Fan Club.

2. The Welcome Committee. This is just a group of knowledgeable folks that care to share their knowledge with potential new members. Answer questions if you can or point them in the right direction. Only members of the this Welcoming Committee will be able to respond in the Welcome Center.

3. Limited Administrators. This really has nothing to do with posting but more organization. Move threads to their proper forum if necessary and in general helping out.

Thanks
Al & Miles
