I have owned an Ovation since I bought a beat-up Ovation classical guitar in the 70s. My latest purchase was made after a lot of online searching and trying all the local guitar shops for a sub-$1000 acoustic that I liked playing and that I like the sound and looks of (I prefer guitars with neck binding for example). I tried many many brands. Most playable was a Fender t-bucket 400ce, but that's a laminate top and I did not like the sound as much as some others. Best sounding I thought, was a Lag.

Ovation was not one I tried initially, because not many shops stock them, and those that do were not close to me and only have a limited range, usually just Celebrities. Then I found a Standard Elite 2778AX-NEB. I love the deep sound and unique looks. Happily it plays very well - nice low action too (with shims removed).

In doing my research I discovered the fan club forum, so here I am, owner, now, of 2 great Ovations saying hi.

oh, and may I have access to post in other sections please?
