For the knowlegeable ones here. I know that during middle-late 70's there was that VT-8 bracing that was kind of a dead sounding setup before the A brace came up. Seems like everyone around here agrees that it kinda sucked. During that same period the Custom Balladeer had a modified X bracing. My questions are, how did those guitars sound? Do they compare to the X bracing of today? Did the modfied X braced guitars in say 1976 sound better then the VT-8 braced guitars of the same year? Hope that all makes sense.
