Here's the verbage from the previous posting:Well after a month of deliberation between selling this beauty or my MS-Reworked 1537, I chose to keep the 1537. Both are spectacular instruments, and soundwise VERY close. This one has a particularly-nice, even timbre across the whole tonal spectrum. I had a friend help me last night with the play-it-in-front-of-me routine.(with new EXP lights on both instruments) They were so close in sound, with the 1537 not having the bell-ringing highs of this one. My final decision was more based on a sentimental attachment with the 1537, as that was my first ovation guitar purchased in the 80's. My friend and I discussed the various qualities of both AAA Spruce-topped guitars and agreed on a few conclusions: The 87 Collector's plays noticeably easier. Noticeably louder on strumming. Clearer/pronounced highs, Obviously more bling with all the MOP, carved bridge, and burled headstock(Oh yeah ... This has the REAL MOP tuner buttons). There IS one small ding in the top, which the MS apparently filled/covered with the finish, which you can see in a couple of the pics. Most of you already know what this model is and its specs, but if you have particular questions, PM me. I have LOTS of pictures on my Ning page Ning Photo Album-1987 Collector's Price: $1500 shipped in the lower 48, add additional costs for AK, Hawaii, or International.
If you can't wait, just check out the pics on my .ning page. 1987 Collector\'s Photos
