I tried to plug in my guitar to the computer yesterday. I use Kristal Audio Engine and Audacity to record my practice from time to time both to accompany myself and to check for any progress in my playing. I use a very basic (and cheap) setup, with my standard soundcard, Asio4all driver and 1/4"-1/8" adapters to plug guitar cable into line in or mic input on the soundcard. Tried to connect my 1619-4 but the signal was to weak no matter how high I adjusted the input levels. I did get some recordable signal when boosting it through a Digitech RP-50 effect unit. My electric axe works fine, so I wonder if it's normal that signal from the piezo pickup through the onboard preamp is weaker than the signal from a magnetic singlecoil? It works when I plug it into my guitar amp though, and I have put in a fresh battery.

I have lowered the action by removing the shim under the saddle. Could this cause a weaker signal from the piezo crystals?
