This is a subject near & dear to my obsessive-compulsive, frugal, tenacious, never-throw-anything-away, personality style. Anybody have stories of horrendous trauma, rejuvenation, or resurrection, of their treasured bowlbacks? I have never bought a brand-new instrument, and wouldn't know if I would want to, for that matter. I have so far reglued several heads, replaced fretboards, "reground" an aluminum one, rehabbed a couple of tops, and had UPS try to destroy another one I had fixed. Just to clarify, I was not the perpetrator of the damage to any of these critters. I'm probably developing a vicarious case of Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder over the past few years (all due respect & honor to my military veteran brethren, to be sure)
Thought it might be inspiring to hear about the creativity & dedication of our membership.
