Joined: September 2007 Posts: 2 | Hi Volks! This is my first post in this great forum with a question: My old Ovation sadly needs a neck repair and maybe a new finsh on the headstock - so it could be that the "Ovation" logo will be lost..... So my question: Does a source exist where I can buy the old Ovation logo - decal???? Or does anyone now which font this is???? I would need this: http://www.junkguitars.com/stories/gp3.jpg Thanks a lot bye SickBoy

A good sign shop should be able to cut it out of gold pressure-sensitive vinyl and you could apply it to the refinished headstock. I just wouldn't put any clear-coat over it, as it could "eat" the vinyl. You could also possibly have 'em make a stencil out of vinyl "computer mask" and spray it on in gold. You could theoretically screen-print it on, but it'd take a bit of doing, and entail some costs ("Back in the Day", I could knock it off in an hour) . . .

Joined: September 2007 Posts: 2 | Hi! Thanks for your all replies!!! I don't want to ship the guitar to Ovation for the repair - that's to circuitous. The repair will be done by my local luthier and he does great work. When it's necessary to add a new logo I think I'll go with the font-option! Georgia comes close but it isn't 100 % correct - and I don't have the Clarendon-font on my PC but I'm searching for it! Thanks guys - bye Sickboy
