| I am considering buying my first Adamas. So, I am looking at either the 1687 or the 2087. Since these are not normally a guitar that is in stock at local dealers, I will never be able to try before buy. No problem with that since I have bought many guitars in all price ranges online without trying first.
My question for anyone who might have tried, or own, both is this:
1687 is full round bowl, no cutaway, and two sets of sound holes
2087 is deep contour bowl, single cutaway, and one set of sound holes
I assume they have a different sound considering the shape of the bowls and the number of sound holes on each. This might be a subjective and difficult question to answer, but I am wondering how much difference is there is in unplugged sound between these two?
Also, I saw some of the older cutaway models (not sure if they are 2087’s or not), with two sets of sound holes. I wonder why they eliminated the second set by the cutaway in the more recent versions? Maybe they decided the set of holes by the cutaway does not make enough difference to justify having them?
