We all remember Bernie (bburg) as an active member of the OFC-Forum, a great guy, absolutely reliable person and well known as a big O/A afficionado - one of the top collectors in Germany over years. Just look at his photo album in this forum and you know what I mean.... His son Johannes now decided to liquidate Bernies collection. As Johannes is not particularly familiar with Ovation guitars, I offered to support his sales activities. Here's a short overwiew: 1114 Folklore Josh White 1127 Glen Campbell Artist 1537-4 Elite 1614 Folklore 1624-4 Country Artist 1678-AV50 Custom Elite 50th Anniversary 1689-8 OFC Adamas I OFC LAV 1756 Legend 1768-7LTD Elite 30th Anniversary "Book Elite" 1881-NB5 Adamas II 2007-BCS Collector's 2009-FKOA Collector's 2078LE-AS Elite Ltd. This is the great story of his "Book Elite" : "...allora, è l'agosto del 2011 quando su Ebay vedo una Book-Elite (modello 1768-7LTD), moooolto vissuta, con un bel crack (riparato) sul top. In breve, vinco l'asta. Edited by titti 2025-03-29 11:40 AM (incontro con Bernie.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Bernie and I did some communication and shipping of Ovation's years ago from the US to Germany. All of us are getting older now and memories are good to have! Bernie was a very nice guy and I'm sure he is missed. As an older earlier member of our Ovation World Community, he is definitely missed! R.I.P. Bernie!

When I was finally ready to purchase my first and only Adamas, the 1680 became the object of my obsession. They are rare and hard to find. Bernie contacted me when he saw my thread and offered to sell me his at a discounted price. Unfortunately, shipping costs (and risk) to Japan or the US kept his 1680 out of reach. He offered to hold on to his 1680 until I can come and pick it up in Europe. Thought he was joking, but he was serious. About that time, a 1680 came-up on Reverb in the States so Bernie encouraged me to get it - which I did. He loved his Os and was such a kind and generous guy. He will be missed. Praying comfort for his family and friends.
