I stumbled across the BBC America show "The Kumars at No. 42" a few weeks ago and now record it if I'm not home to see it...
I think it's hilarious, try to catch the one with Stephen Fry!
Last night's episode had Jools Holland (us Yanks might know him from Squeeze; the "boogie" is the left hand and the "woogie" is the right hand) and Tom Jones. Sanjeev begs Tom Jones to let him play on the song they sing at the end and it has to be in G as that's all he knows.

Sanjeev plays an Ovation (might be a Celebrity) with big gold sequened letters "SANJEEV" pasted onto the top...

I don't remember any other group of people that have their radar up so high for this type of thing.
It speaks volumes to the type of ferver we have for the product.

It also helps that the product is so recognizable.

We aren't unique though....you should see the posts on the Everything Dulcimer BB I frequent when a mountain dulcimer shows up anywhere near mainstream!!!! (Cyndi Lauper has been using one in concert and that has really ignited a lot of discussion)

Another great sighting last night. There was a program called Classic Albums, focussing on Queen's A Night At The Opera.

Contained much old (1970's) footage of Brian May playing his Ovation 12-string live, and then some new interviews of him playing not only the Red Special, but that same O. He played Love of My Life, and '39 on the 12. Beautiful.

Stephen - he also played a George Formby Banjulele. Just thought you might like to know!

I'd normally say that I don't get out much, but the reverse is true! I've been out far too much...

I'm involved in a local production of Scrooge (shameless plug time... see www.manxoperaticsociety.org for details, and the run up has been hectic. We've been rehearsing since June, and we finally opened on Saturday night. 2 shows down, 13 to go! I've been doing the assistant Musical Director role, too, so when I've not been rehearsing I've been waving my arms in a comedy manner!

I'm on holiday from work until after christmas now, so I should be able to contribute more of the usual drivel to the boards!

Hope that all is well with everyone.

Hey, jb. Break a leg.

I've been involved in strictly amateur church productions a couple of times and it's fun but stressfull!

Have a great run!!
