1. who can tell me what material did OVATION use to make guitar's back? Wood or plastics? If use wood, how did their bend it? If use plastics, how did their make the sound as good as use wood?

2. untill now, which series of OVATION guitars is cheapest?

Thankyou very much!!

The backs are made from a fiberglass-like material called Lyracord. Its a very sonically reflective and musically nuetral material that projects well...

The Applause is the entry level Ovation. Not USA made.

I would say that the Applause is the cheapest guitar made by Ovation, but Jeff already beat me to it! :p

Applause guitars these days are made in China ... any chance you might know the factory's location? (city, town or province) ? That just might be your portal towards obtaining your first Ovation guitar (well it's a start before moving onto bigger things later :) ).

My Applause is one tough guitar ... it fell a few times, got banged up, hit with a stick, unconsciously left overnight in the car's trunk in sub-zero temperature, but it continues to play nicely. Recently, it accidentally got slammed by my youngster which resulted in a cracked neck, and surprisingly, it's still playable!
