Hi forum,

I am new here so first of all a big HELLO to everybody :-)

I own an Ovation Balladeer 1661 from 1982 which I bought a looong time ago. Since I am only a hobby and casual player it never came to my mind joining an Ovation Club forum. And yet here I am :-)

Currently I am negotiating to maybe buy a used Adamas 2087GT which is a bit stupid since it is too expensive for me and I am not even a good enough player.
Doing some research on this model, something crossed my attention which I find very disturbing.
In most photos the deep contour bowl has a round mainenance hole with an attachment screw in the middle. BUT not on every photo. For example on Thomann's web site (I am German *blush*) the Adamas 2087GT has no such hole. Since I could not believe it, I actually called them to ask if it is a wrong picture (may of a Legend-Model) but no, it is for real: Their Adamas 2087GT has no such mainenance hole. So I asked the guy from Thomann how you would do a neck re-adjustment and they couldn't tell me.
So I got 2 questions:

1) What is the reason that Adamas 2087GT seems to have that hole most of the times but not always?
2) If it does not have the hole, how in fact would one do repairs to it? E.g. cable broken loose, something dropped into it, adjusting the neck etc...

Hoping for some interesting replies and many greetings, hans

Ok, I checked with Ovation Customer Support and they answered:

* The 2087GT has been build without the service hole for a while (not specifying when)
* Currently they are build WITH the service hole
* Repairs are made through the opening of the pre-amp. That means for repairs/maintenance one has to remove the pre-amp and cab.

Cheers, hans
