Judging by yesterday's social media post by Ovation, it appears the traditional Custom Legend is making a return and will be built in the US. I don't know about you guys, but this is the most exciting thing I've seen from Ovation in years. It's been somewhere (I think) around 25 years since it was a regularly produced model. I suspect we'll be learning more today or tomorrow from the NAMM show in California.

Hey, falknerbrad,
This is great news! I've always wanted an older style CL 12-String in Natural, with a slotted headstock myself, but I'll wait for further information.

Yup, their facebook post today looks like both a fancy elite and legend, priced in the low to mid $2000s. Considering inflation, these prices look about right. Considering the competition, the pricing looks right.

While this is a positive portfolio addition, I'm left feeling disappointed. Was really hoping for the 1719 return, or whatever the evolved iteration of that guitar would be.

I doubt that low prices like this will be on the tags.

Hello, Everyone,
There's a new video on a YT channel called, mikesgigtv, with Rick Hall from OVATION at NAMM 23. The new Ovations now have, would you believe? "SIDEPORTS", like G!@#$%, so there not even called "soundholes", anymore! I say," MEH", and, as my fellow Canadian once sang, "THAT DON'T IMPRESS ME MUCH!" ( Shania Twain)."Just sayin' my say."( Burt Lancaster in Ulzanna's Raid) That's 2 quotes for the price of one today.

I truly wish Ovation the best of success. I just worry how many times you can change ownership and move factories before the DNA gets diluted to the point that it no longer matches the history of the name. But maybe that's just the way of the world these days ... You know, Ovation fans can bash Martin all they want but there is something comforting in the fact that Martin has been family owned and (the US models) built in the same town for 190 years.

I watched the video and I was not impressed in what I saw with the guitars. I will be at the winter 2024 Namm Show and I will have to see for myself at the Ovation both if they are there. If there is anything that will spark my interest. Thank goodness I have my Ovations from the 70's, that I truly love. I was lucky enough to get the prototype of the Glen Campbell Ovation that was made years ago when DW had the brand at the Namm Show.

Mr. Hall from Ovation seems less than impressive. Perhaps he was under a time crunch with this video, but he seemed unaware of the product he proports to represent. I'm also glad I have my older Ovations.
