| One of my first guitars was an Ovation Applause. After being out of the game for 30 years, which included a short stint as a lead singer in a garage band I am back with vengeance learning every thing I can! I'm thinking of buying a full fledged Ovation, but have a few questions I'm hoping the board can answer.
Thanks! |

| Well since I can ask a question here I will do so. My applause has numerous surface cracks that started soon after I got it back in the mid 80's. Now there are 9 of them down length wise all he way down to the length of the face. Doesn't seem to effect the sound. I'd like to upgrade to a high end Ovation but am concerned there could be issues there too. I've had folks tell me this can be an issue on Ovations as the face contracts and expands but the back does not, hence, the issues. However I would think Ovation has addressed it and it is no longer an issue? Thanks! . |

Climate, Humidity, and other factors.
There are old Ovation guitars with no cracks.
